Zaib makes his mark against Pakistan after earning overdue recognition

After earning overdue recognition at representative level this week, Saif Zaib showed what he is capable of by top-scoring against a full-strength Pakistan side at Beckenham.
Playing for the Professional County Club Select XI alongside Northamptonshire teammate James Sales and former Steelback Emilio Gay, Zaib hit 65 off 69 balls on day one of a three-day fixture which served as a warm-up for Pakistan before their Test series against England.
The opportunity came after many, including Northamptonshire head coach Darren Lehmann, had called for Zaib to be given a chance in a representative side following his breakout year in 2025 which included six Championship centuries.
