George Scrimshaw is set to play his first County Championship game of the season this weekend as Northamptonshire travel to Derby, aiming for back-to-back wins.
The Steelbacks will be looking to take the momentum from their momentous three-day victory over Worcestershire which lifted them to second place in Division 2.
Scrimshaw looked in excellent form for the Seconds this week, taking a five-fer against Lancashire at Dunstable and is likely to replace Raphy Weatherall who has headed back to university to complete his law exams.
Reflecting on victory against Worcestershire on Sunday evening, Northamptonshire Men’s Head Coach Darren Lehmann praised Ben Sanderson’s incredible performance which engineered a dramatic collapse to sink the visitors for 114. Sanderson, who is the leading wicket-taker across both divisions, returned figures of 7-31 and career-best match figures of 11-109.
