Sales earns England Lions call-up after stunning start to the season

James Sales has been rewarded for his dominant County Championship form with a debut England Lions call-up.
Sales has been named as part of the 15-player squad who will take on South Africa A in two four-day games at Arundel and Beckenham later this month in a sign that the selectors are taking more notice of Second Division performances.
The all-rounder has made two big hundreds so far this season and stands as Northamptonshire's top scorer in the Rothesay County Championship with 393 runs at an average of 78.60. He hit a career-best 164 in the draw with Middlesex, while his unbeaten 146 helped set up an innings victory over Worcestershire.
