Northamptonshire has scrapped plans to build a £13 million second home at Moulton to the north-west of the town.

Instead, in a significant shift, Brixworth Cricket Club is at the centre of a major new strategy to help grow participation and engagement across the game in the county.

The news comes as Brixworth Cricket Club secured its long-term future through the purchase of its ground by a new company led by the club and supported by Northamptonshire’s charitable arm, the Steelbacks Foundation.
