Nathan McSweeney has been selected for Australia A’s tour of India and will miss Northamptonshire’s final three games of the season.

It's a not unexpected blow for the county, but McSweeney will be available for Thursday’s trip to Old Trafford and Northamptonshire’s home fixtures against Kent and Durham before returning to Australia.

As The Steeler revealed earlier this season, Harry Conway has stayed on in Northamptonshire precisely for this eventuality, providing overseas cover should McSweeney be called away on international duty. In the meantime, Conway has been keeping match fit by playing for Kislingbury CC.
