Australian international McSweeney commits future to Northamptonshire with new 2027 deal

Nathan McSweeney has signed a new deal with Northamptonshire which will see him return to Wantage Road for a second season in 2027.
The Australian international is set to play in all three formats after quickly becoming a key part of the county’s Championship and Blast teams. The news comes after McSweeney steered the Steelbacks to their eighth successive Vitality Blast victory at Bristol last night.
South Australia batter McSweeney is just the second skipper to lift all three trophies in Australian domestic cricket and has since become a vital lieutenant for Luke Procter and David Willey, as well as working with younger players at the cinch County Ground.
