“A Tough Road”: Lehmann Hails Broad Comeback in Blast Opener

Northamptonshire men’s head coach Darren Lehmann says he is delighted for Justin Broad who top-scored for the Steelbacks in their opening Vitality Blast victory over Glamorgan last night after a long lay-off with a back injury.
Still unable to bowl as a result of the injury which has ruled him out of first-team cricket since the pre-season tour of South Africa, Broad was proactive from the start. He used his crease well to engineer scoring opportunities as well as hitting for six over midwicket. His 38 off 25 balls helped rescue the Steelbacks after an early clatter of wickets and give the bowlers something to defend.
