Northamptonshire Steelbacks' Vitality Blast group stages ended with defeat at the hands of Warwickshire Bears at the cinch County Ground this afternoon.
Bears keeper-batter Kai Smith smashed an unbeaten T20 career best 65 to end the visitors' campaign on a high in a thrilling five-wicket victory.
The Bears were unable to qualify for the knockout stages but dented the Steelbacks’ momentum ahead of their home quarter-final on Wednesday night.
