Steelbacks look to bounce back at Leicestershire after tough week

Steelbacks Women travel to Leicester this morning (Sunday 7 June) looking to get back to winning ways in the Vitality Blast after back-to-back losses at the hands of arguably Tier Two’s strongest counties.
Last Sunday, the Steelbacks fell to an agonising defeat to last year’s champions Middlesex in a thriller which went down to the final ball. Then on Friday afternoon, they were outplayed by Glamorgan, a county preparing to become a fully professional Tier One side from 2027.
Playing at Wantage Road, Glamorgan won the toss and elected to bat, racing to 88 for one after 10 overs before finishing on 174 for three after 20. Clara Thaker, making her debut for the Steelbacks aged 17, and fresh from a winter in Australia with England Under 19s, claimed her first senior T20 wicket.
