Steelbacks book Finals Day return with quarter-final victory over Gloucestershire

Northamptonshire are headed back to Edgbaston having booked themselves a place at Vitality Blast Finals Day following victory in tonight’s quarter-final at Wantage Road.
David Willey played a captain’s knock of 47 not out to steer the Steelbacks to an eight-wicket win against Gloucestershire with 14 balls to spare.
The result sets up a showdown with Somerset in the semi-final at Edgbaston on Saturday morning, the side that defeated the Steelbacks twice in the group stages. Whoever wins will take on the winner of the other semi-final between Hampshire Hawks and Notts Outlaws.
Willey picked up the mantle tonight after Chris Lynn was forced to leave the field when Duan Jansen struck him on the foot and Ricardo Vasconcelos was dismissed for 42.
