The Steelbacks’ T20 Blast campaigns got off to the strongest of starts in Worcester on Sunday, with a double header producing wins for both Gemma Marriott’s women’s team and David Willey’s men.
Marriott’s side walked away with a full five points, winning by 39 runs after they dismissed their hosts for 101 with 13 balls of their innings unused, ensuring they took the bonus point on offer for net run rate. It sets up an intriguing clash at Wantage Road this Sunday against last year’s Tier Two winners Middlesex.
