Men’s head coach Darren Lehmann has praised Northamptonshire for pushing Division Two leaders Durham all the way in a Rothesay County Championship thriller at Chester-le-Street.
A sensational unbeaten century from David Bedingham helped the hosts strengthen their position in the promotion race as they emerged winners by six wickets in a dramatic climax on the final evening.
But Lehmann paid tribute to his side for putting in four days of solid effort despite the ultimate disappointment.
