Lewis McManus says the fight shown by Calvin Harrison and James Sales late on day two has given Northamptonshire some hope going into the second half of their Rothesay County Championship match at Derby.

Derbyshire put the visitors to the sword, declaring on 604 for seven, the sixth highest total in their history, with wicketkeeper Brooke Guest making 141, his first century in nearly three years.
