Ricardo Vasconcelos struck a magnificent 88 off just 59 balls to propel Northamptonshire Steelbacks to 169 all out in the Vitality Blast final against Hampshire Hawks.
It was the first T20 half-century of the season for the Steelbacks opener and featured 11 fours and two sixes.
Vasconcelos shared a second wicket stand worth 60 with Nathan McSweeney (30) in six overs.
But despite 22 from Lewis McManus, Hampshire did well to restrict the Steelbacks lower order who had no answer to England’s Sonny Baker who bowled at express pace and took three wickets in one over, finishing with figures of five for 21.
