Calvin Harrison scored a defiant 107, his second century of the season, but Northamptonshire were forced to follow on against Derbyshire on day three of their Rothesay County Championship Division Two match in Derby.

Harrison shared a seventh wicket stand of 105 from 230 balls with Lewis McManus, who made 47, before the Steelbacks were bowled out for 228 in response to Derbyshire’s huge first innings total 604 for 7 declared.

Ben Aitchison returned his best first-class figures since July 2022 to keep Derbyshire firmly in control at the Central Co-op County Ground.
