After celebrating a 23rd first-class 23rd first-class fifer today, Ben Sanderson talked about the work he had to put in during the winter to come back from injury problems in recent seasons.
The veteran Northamptonshire seamer mopped up Lancashire's tail this morning, finishing with figures of five for 79 from 28.3 economical, probing overs. In the process he celebrated a landmark 600 wickets in all formats for the County.
Reflecting on the landmark, Sanderson said: “I’ve worked really hard to come back from the shoulder injury and a couple of knee problems over the last few years.
“The backroom staff have really put me through my paces this winter and focused on getting me as fit as possible and it’s paid off, so big praise to them."
