Steelbacks batter Beth Ascott says confidence is running high as the team look to extend their three-match unbeaten run into tomorrow’s One Day Cup encounter against Sussex at Finedon Dolben Cricket Club.
Ascott scored an unbeaten 53, her second half-century of the campaign at Bristol last Sunday, as the Steelbacks romped home against Gloucestershire by six wickets with more than 22 overs to spare.
The result followed a home victory in the opening game of the One Day Cup at Wantage Road against Kent. In between, the Steelbacks dispatched Herefordshire to book a place in the second round of the T20 County Cup competition.
