Adjusting to four-day cricket so soon after playing six rounds of Vitality Blast matches was a big challenge, losing Gloucestershire captain Cameron Bancroft conceded after the conclusion of his side’s epic battle with Northamptonshire on Monday evening.
Bancroft was quick to stress that it was no excuse for how the Glo’sters had performed but acknowledged that switching back from T20 to Championship cricket demanded greater attention to detail.
