Cobb and Smith back Gateway T20 League to give young players another chance

Former Steelbacks T20 Blast winner Josh Cobb and the county’s current batting coach Greg Smith will be among those acting as player-coaches mentoring young players in the new Gateway T20 League at the cinch County Ground next week.
Cobb and Smith will be playing alongside and working with players in the Northern Titans team during the tournament which takes place from 17-20 August.
The competition has been created to provide a platform for talented young cricketers who may have narrowly missed out on county contracts, been released from the professional game, or are still developing through club cricket.
