Saif Zaib is leaving Northamptonshire following an agreement with another county.

In a statement this morning, the club said that the 28-year-old had informed them at the end of the season that he did not see his future career at Northamptonshire and, despite discussions to reverse that decision, he will now leave the club.

The news comes as a major blow to the Steelbacks after two prolific seasons with the bat in the Championship in particular. Over his 13 seasons with the club at a professional level, Zaib made over 200 appearances and was a part of this year’s T20 Blast success.

“It’s been a real honour to represent Northamptonshire CCC,” Zaib said. “Especially as the club has been such a big part of my life for so long. I’ll always be grateful for the memories, friendships and experiences I’ve had along the way.
