Seamer Liam Guthrie has signed a one-year contract extension which will see him remain at Wantage Road until the end of the 2028 season.

Guthrie joined Northamptonshire on a three-year deal at the start of the 2025 season and has taken 54 wickets in 17 County Championship appearances across the last two seasons.

He arrived at Wantage Road with a reputation for speed, with men’s head coach Darren Lehmann describing him as possessing “genuine pace” when he signed from Queensland.

Lehmann previously worked with Guthrie during his time as assistant coach of both Queensland Bulls and Brisbane Heat in Australia.
