From India to Lehmann: How McManus transformed his batting

Lewis McManus’ late counterattack against Derbyshire this week was further evidence of a player who has transformed his batting in recent seasons.
Speaking to The Steeler this week, McManus said the arrival of Darren Lehmann as men’s head coach last season had been pivotal in his development, particularly changing the way he approaches each stage of an innings.
But the roots of McManus’ transformation as a batter can be traced back to late 2023 after a disappointing second summer with the Steelbacks. The club had just been relegated from Division One and McManus had scored only 185 runs in 11 Championship outings.
