Ripley challenges Steelbacks Women to learn how to win tight games

Women’s head coach David Ripley says the Steelbacks need to learn to win tight games if they want to progress to the next level next summer.
Ripley praised the Steelbacks for a strong season which saw them reach the quarter-finals of the Vitality T20 County Cup and the semi-finals of the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
But speaking after the side lost that semi-final to Middlesex by 29 runs at Radlett yesterday, Ripley spoke of his disappointment at failing to get over the line.
The Steelbacks were in pole position at 83 for one, chasing a DLS-adjusted target of 165 with 25 overs still in hand, but proceeded to lose their last nine wickets for 52 in 13 overs, a disappointing finish to an excellent List A campaign.
