Lehmann: Bad light decision one of ‘worst advertisements’ for county game

Darren Lehmann has described the decision to take the players off for bad light with Northamptonshire on the brink of an historic Championship victory over Derbyshire as one of the ‘worst advertisements’ for the county game.
Northamptonshire were just 23 runs away from what would have been the fifth-highest successful run chase in their first-class history when the umpires halted proceedings with 22.2 overs remaining.
The men’s head coach said that while Northamptonshire had to live with the decision, their effort in coming so close to chasing down 349 still made it one of his proudest days as a coach at Wantage Road.
