When it mattered most Ricardo Vasconcelos delivered the big score he had been promising throughout this year’s Vitality Blast campaign.
Vasconcelos’ career-best 88 in the final last Saturday not only earned him the player-of-the-match award, but set up the Steelbacks’ victory and their third Blast title.
He admits he had grown frustrated after failing to convert a consistent run of scores throughout the tournament into more substantial totals. He reached the 40s three times before Finals Day, with a highest score of 44 against Essex, while also making two scores of more than 30 and five in the 20s.
